Norfolk Family Photography
I created space in my diary this year for more family shoots and I’ve been so grateful that those spaces have been filled and I have met so many families already this year, some I have met before and some new and each and every one is a treat. I get to explore all corners of Norfolk and a little further afield and so often I come across new places or little hidden corners that I didn’t know were there.
My approach during your family shoot, is one of gentle direction and also encouraging natural engagement. The final images will look natural and sometimes families think they happen naturally. If they do, great, I observe and photograph through all the little moments. But more often than not, I would fin a nice spot with nice light and then give you little actions or have conversation to encourage natural responses. The direction isn’t about posing but about capturing your characters, relationships and connections.
How long has it been since you got your family together and all had pictures? If you are anything like me, its been a while? I keep saying to myself – when I lose a bit of weight or when I have more time or in the autumn leaves or, or, or …. I just keep putting it off! However there really is no time like the present, I will never have this time again so it is my mission to ‘persuade’ my family to have a shoot this autumn, not one where I put the camera on a timer but one where I get to go and have them done by somebody else and let them lead us. How about you? Is it time to get all the family together?
Now we are 6 months in to the year, a little round up of family Shoots ‘Your Family, Your Way’ so far this year.
